Cuyahoga County Perinatal Depression Task Force
The Cuyahoga Perinatal Depression Task Force first convened in 2005 in response to addressing the gaps and barriers for women experiencing perinatal depression. The purpose of the Task Force is to create a regular venue for providers to raise issues and make recommendations for improvement with identifying perinatal depression and enhancing the current referral and intake system. Task Force members have been responsible for assisting with developing materials and resources including Guidelines, the Maternal Behavioral Health Referral Form, Maternal Depression Tablet and Poster, and the Maternal Depression Resource Card that can be found in community agencies and healthcare organizations throughout Cuyahoga County. The Task Force is currently made up of members from the health care system, home visiting programs, mental health agencies, social services, and managed care providers. The Task Force has been duplicated in other counties, and has continued to meet quarterly since 2005.
